About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for CHEM 2P12 for the Winter D3-3 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) and involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. The compensation rate depends on the employee's qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour, effective September 1, 2026. Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. Requirements
- Minimum of 80% in the course
- At least third- or fourth-year students currently enrolled in Chemistry, or who have completed a Chemistry degree or equivalent
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
