About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Lab Demonstrator for CHEM 2P12 in the Winter D3-9 term. Compensation for this role is based on the employee's qualifications, with specific rates for those without a 4-year honours degree or 3-year pass degree (undergraduate rate) and those who possess one (graduate rate). The nominal workload for this position is 10 hours per week, comprising 6 hours of demonstrating and 4 hours of marking and lab preparation. Duties are in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Senior Lab Instructor, be familiar with laboratory procedures, introduce the lab, demonstrate techniques, assist students, maintain safety, prepare and clean up the lab, mark reports, and attend meetings as needed.

Requirements

• MSc or currently enrolled in a graduate program in Chemistry
• Completed CHEM 2P12 or an equivalent course
• Submit seniority date with application (applicants without one will be assumed not to have one)

Responsibilities

• Familiar with laboratory procedures
• Present an introduction to the lab
• Demonstrate laboratory techniques
• Teach and assist students during the lab
