About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker Grader for CHEM 1P91 for the Winter D3 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. Marker-Graders are paid based on their qualifications, with rates ranging from $19.00/hour for first-year undergraduate completion to $36.00/hour for a completed Master's Degree (effective September 1, 2026). The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams. Marker-Graders are expected to provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, considering both substantive content and written communication aspects such as spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure. Additionally, the role may include invigilating mid-terms and examinations, and entering grades into databases, as requested by the course instructor. This position is subject to course enrollments and budgetary approval. Requirements

  • Must have completed CHEM 1P91 (or equivalent in English) and attained a grade of 80% or higher.
  • Graduate of or Major in Chemistry with a minimum major average of 75%.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities
