Teaching Assistant RECL 2P62 Winter D3-1
About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the RECL 2P62 Leisure Education in Therapeutic Recreation course for the Winter D3-1 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. Compensation will be based on the employee's qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, and include scheduled contact time with students, preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.
Requirements
- Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
- At least third- or fourth-year students currently enrolled in Recreation and Leisure Studies, or who have completed a RECL degree or equivalent
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
