About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant for the ENSU 2P02: Environmental Sustainability in Practice course during the Winter D3-1 term. Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). In cases where additional duties are required, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement and include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.

Requirements

• Graduate and/or undergraduate degree in Environmental Sustainability or a related degree with transdisciplinary orientation.
• Technological expertise and familiarity with Brightspace, the Learning Management System.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant at the undergraduate level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations may be required)
