About The Position

The Faculty of Arts Institute for Indigenous Research and Knowledges (FAIIRK) at McGill University is seeking eligible candidates to serve as Teaching Assistants for the INDG 200 Introduction to Indigenous Studies course in the Fall 2026 term. This is an on-campus, in-person position. Applicants must be registered in a graduate program at McGill for the Fall 2026 term. The role involves approximately 180 hours per term and requires instruction in conference sections, availability for student consultations, attendance in class lectures as needed, grading of course components, consultation with the course instructor, and assistance in preparing course materials.

Requirements

• Registered in a graduate program at McGill in the Fall 2026 term
• Prior graduate or undergraduate study in subject matter of course
• Strong overall academic performance
• Suitable teaching skills
• Authorized to work in Canada
• Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located
• English communication skills (verbal and written)

Responsibilities

• Instruction in conference sections
• Availability for student consultation/office hours
• Attendance in class lectures (when required by instructor)
• Grading of papers, exams, and other course components
• Consultation with course instructor
• Assistance in the preparation of course materials
