About The Position
The Department of Linguistics at McGill University is seeking Teaching Assistants for the Fall 2026 term. This role involves preparing and teaching small group conferences, attending TA meetings, grading assignments, midterms, and final exams, and holding office hours. Other related tasks may also be assigned. This position is open to McGill University registered graduate students in an MA or PhD program for the Fall 2026 term.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate student registered at McGill University in an MA or PhD degree program in the Fall 2026 term
- Must be a graduate student in good standing in the Department of Linguistics at McGill University
- Require a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the first-level core courses in Linguistics (Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax and Semantics)
- International students must have a valid study permit, social Insurance number (SIN), and Canadian bank account
- Must possess English communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach conferences with small groups of students
- Attend TA meetings
- Grade assignments, midterms and final exams
- Hold office hours
- Other tasks associated with the position/course
Benefits
- Hourly Salary: $38.46 (effective in August 2026)
