About The Position

McGill University's Writing Centre is seeking Teaching Assistants (TAs) for the WCOM 206 course, Communication in Engineering, for the Fall 2026 term. These positions are available only to McGill registered graduate students in an MA or PhD program for the Fall 2026 term. The TA role involves leading tutorials, grading assignments, reading course materials, and attending selected lectures, TA meetings, and training sessions. Hours are dependent on course enrollment.

Requirements

  • Registered graduate student (M.A. or Ph.D) in good standing at McGill University
  • Post-secondary training or professional development in delivering oral presentations in English
  • Experience in delivering high-quality and effective oral presentations in English at the post-secondary level
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills in English
  • Must be a student registered at McGill University in an MA or PhD degree program in the Fall 2026 term
  • Must be available to attend selected lectures and all scheduled tutorials
  • International students must have a valid study permit, social Insurance number (SIN), and Canadian bank account.
