About The Position

The Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies (IGSF) is seeking eligible candidates to serve as Teaching Assistants for the Fall 2026 term. Applicants must be registered in a graduate program at McGill University for the Fall 2026 term. Teaching Assistants will be required to perform their duties in person on campus. The specific course is GSFS 250 Sexual and Gender Diversity Studies. There are an estimated three positions available, with each position requiring 90-180 total hours per term.

Requirements

  • Registered in a graduate program at McGill in the Fall 2026 term
  • Prior graduate or undergraduate study in subject matter of course
  • Strong overall academic performance
  • Suitable teaching skills
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based/located
  • English communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

  • Instruction in conference sections
  • Availability for student consultation/office hours
  • Attendance in class lectures (when required by instructor)
  • Grading of papers, exams, and other course components
  • Consultation with course instructor
  • Assistance in the preparation of course materials
