About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for HIST 1P91 (Trendsetting: Global History and Fashion) for the Winter term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The compensation for Teaching Assistants is based on their qualifications, with different rates for those holding a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree compared to those who do not. Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.
Requirements
- A four-year Honours B.A., or equivalent, in History with a minimum 75% average in History courses.
- Demonstrated knowledge of 19th- and 20th-Century History is required.
- Evidence of successful previous university-level teaching assistant experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated organizational and effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students, be punctual in attending classes, and meet appropriate deadlines.
