About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant in HIST 2Q93 Women in North America to 1865 for the Winter D3-1 term. Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Requirements
- A four-year Honours B.A., or equivalent, in History with a minimum 75% average in History courses.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian and American Women's History before 1865 is required.
- Undergraduate coursework in Women's History and/or Women's and Gender Studies is required.
- Evidence of successful previous university-level teaching assistant experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated organizational and effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students, be punctual in attending classes, and meet appropriate deadlines.
Responsibilities
