About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for HIST 2F90 (Money and Power in the Atlantic World) for the Fall/Winter D1-1 term. This position is within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The role involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. The course will be taught asynchronously online.

Requirements

  • A four-year Honours B.A. or equivalent, in History with a minimum of 80% average in History course.
  • Demonstrated, extensive knowledge of Early Modern History.
  • Evidence of successful previous university-level teaching assistant experience using an online learning management system.
  • Ability to articulate the basic concepts of historiography.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with digital tools including ArcGIS StoryMaps and Voyant.
