About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant for the Metabolic Biochemistry course (BIOC 311) during the Fall 2026 term. The contract period is from Monday, August 31, 2026, to Thursday, December 31, 2026. The Teaching Assistant will support students via myCourses, assist instructors with designing quiz questions, be available to answer email inquiries, provide review sessions, grade exams, and participate in viewing sessions to answer student questions. The hours are flexible.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in a McGill graduate program in Fall 2026 term.
Must have received a final grade of 'A' in BIOC 311 (or equivalent course on Metabolism, or demonstrated research experience on Metabolism).
Effective communication skills in English are essential.
Must hold a valid study permit covering TA contract period (for International Students).
Must be authorized to work in Canada.
Must be willing to work in the province of Quebec.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of active learning pedagogy OR Attendance to workshops on pedagogy is an asset.
French is an asset.

Responsibilities

Aid students via myCourses.
Aid instructors with designing quiz questions.
Be available to answer e-mail inquiries or direct questions.
Provide a review session upon completion of each course module.
Grade exams throughout the semester as discussed with course coordinators and instructors.
Participate in viewing sessions and answer students' questions.
