About The Position
This position is for a Teaching Assistant for the Nucleic Acids course (BIOC 454) during the Fall 2026 term. The contract period is from Monday, August 31, 2026, to Thursday, December 31, 2026. The Teaching Assistant will be expected to attend lectures, hold office hours, assist students via myCourses and email, conduct review sessions before the midterm and final exams, attend the midterm and final exams, and prepare practice questions. Requirements
- Enrolled in a McGill graduate program in Fall 2026 term.
- Received final grade “A” in BIOC 454.
- Effective communication skills in English are essential.
- Must hold a valid study permit covering TA contract period (for International Students).
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
- Must be willing to work in the province of Quebec.
Nice To Haves
- French is an asset.
- Updated CV including any previous TA experience in the Department of Biochemistry or within McGill University.
Responsibilities
- Be present at introductory lecture and half of all subsequent lectures.
- Aid students at office hours and via myCourses.
- Be available to answer e-mail inquiries or direct questions.
- Provide a review session before midterm and final.
- Attend midterm and final.
- Prepare practice questions for students.
- Possibility of grading exams.
