About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant for ESL 120 F300 during the 2026 Fall Semester. The role involves assisting in the preparation and delivery of lessons, attending group meetings, and reporting on class activities. The course is an integrated four-skills course focusing on grammar, vocabulary, study skills, IT resources, learning strategies, and intercultural competence, using a student-centered, interactive, and task-based approach with an emphasis on formative evaluation. This course is offered exclusively on the University of Ottawa campus and requires in-person instruction.

Requirements

• Capacity to facilitate group work through a student-centered, task-based learning approach.
• Capacity to explain the English verb system, sentence structure, and academic vocabulary to second language learners.
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Interview may be required.
