About The Position
This posting is for a Teaching Assistant position for the ESL 140 F200 course, Academic Bridging in English, during the Fall 2026 semester. The position is located at the Main Campus and is part of the Faculty of Arts, within the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute. The role involves a total of 65 work hours, with specific allocations for preparation and contact with students. The course is offered exclusively on the University of Ottawa campus and requires in-person instruction. The hiring process will be governed by the current CUPE 2626 collective agreement.
Requirements
- Master's degree in second language teaching, TESL or related discipline.
- Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level.
- Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course.
- Experience with team-teaching.
- TESL Certification or equivalent.
- This course is offered exclusively on the University of Ottawa campus and requires in-person instruction.
- Professors teaching the same section mutually agree upon teaching schedules. In circumstances of limited sections on offer and/or conflicting schedules among professors, the unit reserves the right to select professor teaching days for a given section.
