About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the NUSC 2P19 Pharmacology in Nursing course. This position involves providing scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. The role requires in-person math support on Mondays and Tuesdays during specific hours.

Requirements

• Strong foundational/practical knowledge regarding medication administration and dosing calculations, including proficiency with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Experience setting up and solving ratios and proportions for dosing calculations.
• Experience with desired dose calculations.
• Expertise with weight-based calculations.
• Skilled understanding of flow and IV drip rates.
• Proficiency in formulas and conversions.
• Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
• Punctual in attending classes.
• Able to meet appropriate deadlines.
• Must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN.
