About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry II (CHM2523 LAB) during the Fall 2026 semester. The TA will be responsible for assisting students in the laboratory, grading lab reports and tests, proctoring midterms and a final exam, and ensuring safety guidelines are followed in the lab. The position is part of the CUPE 2626 collective agreement. Requirements

• Successful completion of one year of general chemistry.
• Successful completion of one year of organic chemistry.
• Successful completion of CHM 3520 or its equivalent.
• Successful completion of Whmis and Occupational Health and Safety workshops.
• All persons who are not graduate students in chemistry must pass a qualifying test.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in the laboratory and elsewhere.
• Grade laboratory reports and tests.
• Proctor midterms and a final exam.
• Implement safety guidelines in the laboratory.
