About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) for the course THE1101 D - Introduction to the Practice of Theatre: Backstage during the 2027 Winter Semester. The role involves supporting the course under the guidance of a supervising professor, with specific tasks to be negotiated. Requirements

• Completed B.A. Honours in theatre or in a relevant field of studies.
• Working knowledge of technical theatre practices including an understanding of basic techniques of production, stage management, production manager, lighting, sound, costume maintenance, set construction, props, shop safety, 1st aid.
• Practical experience as a technician, director, actor, stage manager or production manager in the professional theatre.

Responsibilities

• Specific tasks to be fixed with the professor.
• Negotiate and sign a description of work with the supervising professor prior to the commencement of work.
• Complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
