About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant for the FSS3295 - Model United Nations course during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course focuses on preparation for the National Model United Nations (NMUN) conference, involving the examination of the UN system, country-specific policies, and multilateral diplomacy. Students will participate in in-class simulations and out-of-classroom activities. Enrollment is limited and requires Faculty of Social Sciences approval. The role involves a combination of tasks such as teaching assistance, leading group discussions, marking papers and exams, providing personal consultation with students, and proctoring. The total work hours for this position are 130.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and interest in international issues
  • Experience as a delegate or Head Delegate in a Model UN conference
  • Bilingualism required, excellent capacity to communicate in English and French (oral and written)
  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in the Joint Honours or Honours programs of the University of Ottawa with a C.G.P.A. of at least 6.0.
  • Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
