This is a Teaching Assistant position for the Model United Nations course (FSS3295, Section A00) during the 2026 Fall Semester. The course prepares students to participate in the National Model United Nations (NMUN) conference in New York City, involving the examination of the UN system, country-specific policies, and multilateral diplomacy. Students will engage in in-class simulations and out-of-classroom activities. Enrollment is limited and requires Faculty of Social Sciences approval. The role involves a combination of tasks such as teaching assistance, leading group discussions, marking papers and exams, personal consultation with students, and proctoring. The total work hours are 65, with an hourly rate of $33.83 for undergraduate students and $53.31 for graduate students (Sept. 2026 - Aug. 2027). These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and are subject to change pending a new collective agreement ratification, with retroactivity applied after ratification. The language of work is English and French. All university employees must complete mandatory legislated training. The hiring process will adhere to the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.
