About The Position

This posting is for a new position as a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) for the Introduction to the Practice of Theatre: Onstage course (THE1100 A) during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves supporting the course under the guidance of a supervising professor, with specific tasks and hours to be negotiated and signed prior to the commencement of work. Requirements

  • Completed B.A. Honours in Theatre or in a relevant field of studies.
  • Working knowledge of theatre practice.
  • Understanding of basic techniques of acting and production.
  • Experience as director or actor in the professional theatre.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Introduction to the Practice of Theatre: Onstage course (THE1100 A).
  • Tasks to be fixed with the professor, potentially including research, preparation, contact with students, grading, proctoring, training, and other duties.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
