About The Position

This posting is for a New Position as a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) for the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence course (SED3115, Section A) during the 2026 Fall Semester. The work is to be performed at the Main Campus. The role involves contact with students, grading, and proctoring. The total work hours are 65, with specific allocations for tasks to be negotiated with the supervising professor. The hourly rate depends on whether the candidate is an undergraduate or graduate student. The language of work is English.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of artificial intelligence, especially in machine learning theory and implementation
  • Strong understanding of search algorithms, classification algorithms (e.g., linear models and neural networks), and generative models (e.g., VAE, GAN, LLMs)
  • Proficiency in PyTorch and GPU programming is required
  • All candidates selected for consideration must be available for an interview
  • Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a course in AI or Machine Learning with a grade of A or better
  • Relevant transcripts must be provided with the application
