About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the "Positivist Theories in Criminology" course (CRM2301, Section B00) during the Fall 2026 semester. The position is for one (1) opening with an expected enrollment of 142 students. The work is to be performed on the Main Campus. The TA will be responsible for a combination of tasks including leading discussion groups, marking papers and exams, holding office hours for student consultations, and proctoring exams. The student must meet deadlines set by the supervisor and attend lectures if requested. The course is in-person.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with Honours in Criminology or equivalent.
• Must meet the deadlines set by the supervisor.
• Must attend lectures if requested to do so.
• All University of Ottawa employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
• If invited to continue the selection process, notify of any particular adaptive measures required.
