This position is for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor for the PRINCIPLES OF CHEMISTRY course (CHM1301-1311 Section B00) during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves giving tutorials, preparing and proctoring exams, quizzes, and midterms. The total expected work hours are 65, with specific allocations for contact with students (35 hours) and grading (20 hours). The hourly rate depends on student status: undergraduate students receive $31.89/hour, and graduate students receive $50.25/hour (2024-2025 rates). These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. All University of Ottawa employees must complete mandatory legislated training.
