About The Position
This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the CHM1311 LAB 65H course during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves assisting students in and out of the laboratory, marking laboratory reports, and implementing safety guidelines. The position is classified under CUPE and is for the Main Campus. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. Undergraduate students will be paid at a lower rate, while graduate students will receive a higher rate. These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification. Requirements
- Candidate must have 1 full year of general chemistry
- 1 full year of organic chemistry
- CHM 2120/2123, or their equivalents
- All those who are not a Chemistry graduate student will be required to write a test to qualify (Unless already previously done)
- Successful completion of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops
