About The Position

This posting is for a new position as a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) for the First Language Acquisition course (LIN3354, Section A) during the 2026 Fall Semester. The work is to be performed at the Main Campus. The total estimated work hours are 130, with specific tasks including preparation, contact with students, grading, proctoring, and training. The hourly rate depends on the student's academic level: $31.89 for undergraduate students and $50.25 for graduate students. These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid thereafter. The language of work is English. The hiring process will follow the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.

Requirements

• Must hold an undergraduate Honours degree in Linguistics or the equivalent.
• All University of Ottawa employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
