About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant for the Health Research: Quantitative and Qualitative Approaches course (HSS3101, Section A) during the Fall 2025 semester. The role involves assisting the professor with examinations, grading written assignments, proctoring exams, and potentially holding office hours (in-person and online) to address student inquiries. The instruction mode is hybrid, requiring occasional campus visits and access to a computer, internet, microphone, and webcam. The contract includes hours for supervision and correction of the final exam. Requirements

  • Bachelor, MSc or PhD in Health Sciences or equivalent
  • Very good English writing skills to accurately mark essays and long answers on exams.
  • Experience with online learning programs and software (as a teaching assistant)
  • Experience with web software (uploading content, programming content)
  • Access to a computer, Internet, microphone, and webcam.
  • Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.

Responsibilities

  • Help with examinations and at least 2 written assignments.
  • Proctoring of exams.
  • Hold office hours in person and online to assist professor with addressing student inquiries and concerns outside of class times.
  • Supervision and correction of the final exam.
