About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Multidisciplinary Design I (SED3111 A) course during the Fall 2026 semester. The TA will be responsible for supporting students in a design-oriented, project-based learning environment. Key tasks include contact with students, grading, and proctoring. The role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a commitment to academic integrity and inclusivity. The hiring process will follow the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.

Requirements

Enrollment in, or completion of, a relevant undergraduate or graduate program.
Demonstrated understanding of design-oriented, project-based or multidisciplinary learning.
Experience with multidisciplinary design projects or team-based project work.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Ability to provide constructive feedback and communicate effectively with students from diverse disciplinary and cultural backgrounds.
Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to meet grading and administrative deadlines.
Commitment to professionalism, academic integrity, accessibility, equity, diversity, inclusion, and confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a teaching assistant, tutor, mentor, studio facilitator, or peer reviewer.
Experience supporting student use of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, digital fabrication, immersive technologies, or other relevant platforms.
Experience working in a university, design studio, engineering, innovation, or creative-technology environment.
French-language capability is a strong asset.
