About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the course SED2113, Section A, titled "Leadership and communication", for the Fall 2026 semester. The TA will be responsible for contacting students and other duties as assigned, totaling 95 hours. The role requires a strong understanding of leadership and communication principles, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. The hiring process will follow the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.

Requirements

  • Completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, technology, organizational leadership, communication, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated experience in team-based projects, communication, or leadership roles (academic or professional)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching and learning
  • Ability to explain concepts and coach students in leadership and communication practices
  • Organizational skills to manage learning materials and grading
  • Commitment to student success, engagement, and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Prior TA, mentoring, or tutoring experience
  • Experience with active learning and inclusive teaching methods
  • Ability to facilitate peer-to-peer learning and foster supportive group environments
