About The Position
The Teacher provides core instruction in Reading, Math, or HSD/GED and promotes student achievement at the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center. The center is operated by Education and Training Resources (ETR) for the US Department of Labor. Its staff provide academic, vocational, and social skills training to help at-risk youth and young adults become competent employees and productive citizens.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
- Valid Minnesota teaching license.
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Nice To Haves
- One year of teaching experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare lesson plans, and administer and correct tests.
- Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet student needs.
- Motivate and counsel students about study habits, behavior, and personal issues.
- Coordinate with other staff to resolve issues affecting student achievement.
- Model appropriate behavior, mentor students, and monitor behaviors.
