About The Position

Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is recruiting for a general pool of teachers for the 2027–2028 school year; this posting is not for a specific vacancy. Applicants join the teacher talent pool and may be contacted when an opening matches their certification, subject, and experience. CNCA serves approximately 3,500 students from TK through 12th grade across six campuses in the MacArthur Park area of Los Angeles, an under-resourced and densely populated community. The academy seeks educators committed to serving under-resourced communities and to research-based, innovative curricular approaches, including balanced literacy and conceptual-based mathematics. Teachers are expected to embrace ongoing professional development and collaboration, advance effective public education in a low-income, primarily immigrant and multilingual community, and support CNCA’s mission, vision, policies, and organizational mindsets. Teachers educate students in a college-preparatory program to become literate, critical thinkers and independent problem-solvers who are agents of social justice. They plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction, differentiate for varied abilities and learning needs, maintain a nurturing classroom, communicate with families, document student learning and interventions, and collaborate with colleagues. Where applicable, teachers coordinate with Inclusion Teachers and provide or support instruction, accommodations, modifications, and services for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, multilingual learning needs, or RTI considerations. Teachers are evaluated against the California Standards for the Teaching Profession and CNCA growth tools, and are expected to pursue professional growth and implement school- and organization-wide initiatives. The position is full-time and based at CNCA in Los Angeles, California. The listed salary range is $60,060.00–$95,124.49. The job details list an 11-month shift and a teaching credential education level. CNCA states that teachers receive competitive salary, healthcare, and retirement benefits.
