About The Position

Apple Montessori Schools is seeking a passionate Teacher Toddler to guide children's development as part of a team using a modern Montessori approach. The role focuses on supporting children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs while preparing them for future learning and development. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with parents.
Experience with lesson planning and development.
Ability to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment.

Nice To Haves

Elementary Education degree preferred.
Montessori experience preferred.
NAMC preferred, or willingness to obtain it within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

Formalize weekly lesson plans for the upcoming instructional period.
Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and make effective decisions about instructional goals.
Determine student performance through informal and formal assessments and observations.
Plan and implement activities that meet children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.
Use a variety of instructional materials and approaches, including contextual and supplemental materials, teacher-constructed materials, teaching bulletin boards, audio-visual aids, hands-on activities, discovery-based learning, and activity-based learning.
Maintain accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for assigned students.
Train and supervise a teacher assistant in the classroom.
Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss children's progress.
Attend Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days, weekly staff meetings, and weekly teacher curriculum meetings.
