About The Position

Apple Montessori Schools is seeking a Teacher to support the development and education of toddler and preschool children. The role is part of a teaching team focused on empowering children and preparing them for their futures through the school's modern Montessori approach and enrichment beyond traditional education. The position is located in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, and the stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Teacher plans and delivers instruction, assesses student performance and progress, and develops activities that support children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs. The role also includes supervising a classroom teacher assistant, communicating with parents about children's progress, and participating in school events, staff meetings, and curriculum meetings.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with parents.
Experience with lesson planning and development.
Ability to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment.

Nice To Haves

Elementary Education degree preferred.
Montessori experience preferred.
NAMC preferred, or willingness to obtain it within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

Prepare weekly lesson plans for the upcoming instructional period.
Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and make effective decisions about instructional goals.
Determine student performance using formal and informal assessments and observations.
Plan and implement activities that meet children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.
Use a variety of instructional materials and approaches, including contextual and supplemental materials, teacher-constructed materials, teaching bulletin boards, audio-visual aids, hands-on activities, discovery-based learning, and activity-based learning.
Maintain accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for assigned students.
Train and supervise a teacher assistant in the classroom.
Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss children's progress.
Attend Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days, weekly staff meetings, and weekly teacher curriculum meetings.
