About The Position

This position involves teaching English as a Second Language to students. The role requires a deep understanding of ESL teaching methodologies, child development, effective instructional strategies, and classroom management. The teacher will be responsible for assessing student progress and using data to inform instruction. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential for interacting with students, staff, administration, and the community. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, results-driven, and possess a personality that fosters positive relationships. Proficiency in using electronic equipment and digital technology for educational purposes is also required. This position is pending budget availability and is open for at least ten days or until filled.

Requirements

  • Hold a New Jersey English as a Second Language Certification or Certificate of Eligibility
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of teaching English as a second language
  • Knowledge of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, and classroom management.
  • Knowledge of assessment and data analysis for instructional purposes
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.
  • Use proper grammar and vocabulary with students, staff, administration, and the community.
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology to augment authentic learning, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications.
  • Must be computer literate
  • Highly motivated result-driven educator
