About The Position

Cadence Academy Preschool is hiring a Teacher Floater - Infant/Toddler to join its team of childcare professionals. The role works as part of the teaching team to support a positive learning environment and provide care and learning experiences for children. Teachers collaborate to implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum, observe and respect children's interests, support safe play, encourage developmentally appropriate social behavior, and help plan a balanced daily schedule. The position is located in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must meet all state preschool teacher requirements.
• High level of flexibility and willingness to work within business hours.

Nice To Haves

• Child Development Associate (CDA) or college degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field.
• Demonstrated classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Accept and support Cadence Education's philosophy and work as part of the teaching team to encourage a positive learning environment for children.
• Document and share with parents important milestones in each child's day.
• Collaborate with preschool teachers and leaders to implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Respect and observe children's interests, intervene when needed to maintain safety, and enhance play with language, toys, and activities.
• Encourage and model developmentally appropriate social behavior and expectations.
• Share ideas when planning a daily schedule that balances quiet and active activities, indoor and outdoor activities, and fine and gross motor activities.
