About The Position

We are currently looking for a Teacher Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals. Hermitage Hall (a UHS company) is one of Middle Tennessee's largest stand-alone psychiatric residential treatment hospitals. Licensed by Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services as a mental health residential treatment center for children and youth, Hermitage Hall has provided services to families for over 30 years. Located southwest of downtown Nashville, off I-65 at the Wedgewood exit, away from the congestion of downtown Nashville, our team of over 130 high-quality employees describe working here as family oriented, therapeutic, value clarifying. The Teacher Assistant will assist assigned teachers in the supervision and instruction of students, performing classroom clerical tasks, and assisting students by meeting special health care needs and developing students’ daily living and behavioral skills.

Requirements

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

• Paraprofessional Licensure/Certificate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the teacher, assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans
• Provide behavior support to the teacher.
• Performs record keeping and clerical functions.
• Assist with positive rewards
• Maintains student records including student point sheets/grades when substituting or assisting.
• Assist teachers with implementation of lesson plans.
