About The Position

As a Teacher Assistant at Apple Montessori Schools, you will work closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and build independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. You will provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and develop confidence and curiosity. The position is located in Hillsborough, New Jersey, with Monday-to-Friday hours of either 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it upon hire.
A genuine love of children.
Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
An understanding of health and safety guidelines.
Capacity to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.
