Teacher Assistant Toddler and Preschool
About The Position
Apple Montessori Schools is hiring a Teacher Assistant to work with toddler and preschool children in a nurturing Montessori environment. The assistant works closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and develop independence. The role involves providing warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and build confidence and curiosity. The position is located in Hillsborough, New Jersey, with one of two Monday-to-Friday schedules: 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The listed salary is $17.00. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it upon hire.
- A genuine love of children.
- Physical ability to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
- Understanding of health and safety guidelines.
- Capacity to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
- Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
- Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
- Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.
