Teacher Aide - Childcare Center - FT - Days - MRH
About The Position
The Teacher Aide assists with developing and leading classroom activities and developmentally appropriate programs at a childcare center. The role works collaboratively with teachers to assess children’s learning and development needs, implement age-appropriate learning solutions, and support classroom instruction and safety. The position requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment. A full Level 2 Background Screening is required at hire and every five years thereafter.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of experience working or volunteering with children.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- DCF 45-hour Certification from the Florida Department of Children and Families.
- Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Full Level 2 Background Screening at hire and every five years thereafter.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the teacher to assess learning and development needs and develop age-appropriate learning solutions.
- Assist the teacher with implementing the teaching schedule and curriculum.
- Assist teachers with course progress report procedures.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety.
- Ensure the classroom meets local licensing standards.
- Attend periodic staff meetings.
- Follow accreditation and licensing policies and practices.
- Apply knowledge of learning principles to engage children in appropriate activities.
