About The Position

This role supports the FMI manager in conducting research, analysis, and reporting on operational and service issues to execute an enterprise-wide regulatory mandate for Financial Market Infrastructure (FMI) contingency planning in a resolution or severe stress scenario. The analyst will develop end-to-end expertise in global functions, including key dependencies, sensitive financial metrics, and risk management strategies. This includes developing testing strategies and tabletop exercises, assisting in preparing detailed contingency plans and reports for regulators, and preparing detailed analysis of the Bank's risk exposure to market infrastructures. The role involves ongoing interaction with process owners and developing subject matter expertise on the Bank's key areas of risk, trading, and operations related to payment, clearing, and settlement processes.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with FMIs or with third-party management preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of capital markets and market infrastructures (from either a trading perspective or an operations perspective).
  • Outstanding writing skills, with the ability to turn around material drafts quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail with confirmed ability to process large volumes of information effectively.
  • Strong analytical/conceptual skills in economics/finance and financial products.
  • Advanced degree in statistics, economics, finance, or mathematics is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support FMI manager in research, analysis, and reporting on operational and service issues.

  • Prepare detailed analysis of the Bank's risk exposure to market infrastructures.
  • Conduct financial modeling and risk strategy development related to market infrastructures.
  • Interact with process owners and develop subject matter expertise on key risk, trading, and operations areas.
