About The Position

The TCS role supports roadway construction and traffic-control work for Work Zone Traffic Control, a member of the Helix Traffic Solutions network serving Colorado and New Mexico. The position helps maintain safe work zones by inspecting and preparing equipment, transporting and setting up traffic-control devices according to MUTCD guidelines, and directing traffic. It also involves coordinating with customers and employees, completing required records, and reporting unsafe conditions. When on call, the employee must respond to calls within one hour.

Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

Respond to calls within one hour when on call.
Maintain equipment in safe, working condition.
Perform pre-job inspections.
Check inventory and inspect equipment needed for each job.
Load required equipment into the vehicle.
Navigate safely between the office and job sites.
Set up cones, signs, barrels, barricades, and other devices at job sites according to MUTCD guidelines.
Flag traffic to help ensure a safe work zone for customers, employees, and the traveling public.
Coordinate with customers and employees to provide safe, efficient, and problem-free service.
Complete required paperwork, receipts, and time sheets by mandatory deadlines.
Report unsafe conditions to a supervisor as soon as possible.
Communicate information effectively, verbally and in writing, to customers, employees, and the traveling public.
Perform other duties as assigned.
