About The Position

Lange Accounting is hiring a Tax and Accounting Manager to lead both tax review and client accounting services at its growing boutique firm in downtown Franklin, Tennessee. The role combines complex business and individual tax return review with monthly accounting oversight, financial reporting, client advisory, team development, and operational improvement. Both tax and accounting responsibilities are equally important. The manager will independently review complex S corporation, partnership, and business-owner individual returns; resolve technical issues; coach preparers; and support accurate, timely delivery. On the accounting side, the manager will review clients’ monthly QuickBooks Online books, lead month-end reviews, resolve accounting problems, and ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and useful. The position serves as a substantive client contact, working alongside a client service manager who generally coordinates document requests and routine information gathering. The manager will explain financial results, address accounting and tax questions, make recommendations, coach team members, and improve workflows and accountability. The role works closely with the firm’s founder and may develop into broader Controller-level responsibilities. A longer-term leadership succession or ownership-related path may be explored, but neither advancement nor ownership is guaranteed. This is a primarily on-site leadership role. The firm may consider limited work-from-home flexibility after the first 90 days and after tax season, based on performance, team leadership, and business needs; a hybrid schedule is not guaranteed. June through December generally involves an approximately 32-hour, four-day workweek, while peak tax-season weeks may be approximately 48–50 hours.
