About The Position

Compeer Financial is hiring a temporary, casual/seasonal Tax and Accounting Assistant to provide processing and administrative support to its Tax and Accounting department during the 2027 tax season. The role works closely with full-time Assistants and offers exposure to an agricultural tax and accounting firm. The position requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week, from January 2027 through mid-April 2027. It is open to Wisconsin office locations in Fond du Lac, Sun Prairie, Prairie du Sac, Dodgeville, Onalaska, or Johnson Creek. Compeer describes its work environment as hybrid, with up to 50% work from home.

Requirements

• Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Skills using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability and willingness to learn Adobe and other technology.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Compeer is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scan, process, print, and mail client W-2s, 1099 forms, and various tax returns.
• Ensure tax service fees are uploaded into the system.
• Complete tax and accounting mailings.
• Provide accurate and timely accounting and tax processing support.
• Maintain a tracking system and follow department policies, procedures, and best practices to balance workload and meet timelines.
