About The Position

The Casual/Seasonal Tax and Accounting Assistant provides processing and administrative support to Compeer Financial’s Tax and Accounting department, helping ensure team members and clients receive professional, accurate, efficient, and reliable assistance. The role works closely with full-time Assistants and offers exposure to the culture and processes of an agricultural tax and accounting firm.

The position is scheduled to begin in January 2027 and continue through mid-April 2027 for tax season. It requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week. The position is open to Wisconsin office locations in Fond du Lac, Sun Prairie, Prairie du Sac, Dodgeville, Onalaska, or Johnson Creek.

Requirements

• Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Skills in using MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability and willingness to learn Adobe and other technology.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scan, process, print, and mail client W-2s, 1099 forms, and various tax returns.
• Ensure tax service fees are uploaded into the system.
• Complete tax and accounting mailings.
• Provide accurate and timely accounting and tax processing support.
• Maintain a tracking system and follow department policies, procedures, and best practices to balance workload and meet timelines.
