About The Position

We serve only our house-brewed beers (the only beer made in Auburn!) so you will be able to focus all your energy and attention on (what we hope is) your favorite libation. Age Under Alabama law, all bartenders at New Realm Brewing must be 21 years or older.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to effectively present our menu to guests and answer questions.
Must be able to speak English.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Nice To Haves

Passion for (and a little bit of knowledge of) local craft beer and spirits are always a plus!
Education High School or better is preferred but not required.
Preferred - 3 years experience in a restaurant and/or Taproom.

Responsibilities

Be timely and dependable.
Absorb and communicate detailed information around a frequently-changing beer & food menu.
Actively anticipate guests’ needs and address issues in a proactive, appropriate manner.
Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
Perform transactions accurately and efficiently via Toast POS.
Perform opening/closing tasks and sidework duties as a self-starter.
Recognize and potentially address, with the assistance of management, intoxicated, disruptive, or threatening patrons.
Consistently meet all best practice standards set in employee handbook and during training.
Count, handle, and balance drawers and safe counts every open and close.
Take a lead in management activities such as planning events, managing inventory, and assessing staff.
