About The Position

We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support Smardt’s North American hiring needs across technical and operational functions. This role will focus on full-cycle recruitment, proactive sourcing, and driving faster, higher-quality hiring outcomes. This position is critical to reducing reliance on external agencies, improving time-to-fill, and building a scalable internal recruiting capability aligned to Smardt’s growth and expansion plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience
  • Previous experience hiring across technical, commercial, operational and manufacturing positions in multi-region environments
  • Strong sourcing capability (LinkedIn, Indeed, direct outreach)
  • Experience supporting hiring through events (career fairs, open houses)
  • Highly driven, proactive, and execution-focused (“go-getter” mindset)
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills
  • Data-driven mindset with comfort in reporting and metrics
  • Experience with ATS platforms such as BambooHR, SAP SuccessFactors, or Workday
  • Based in Dorval (on-site role)
  • Fluent in French and English (mandatory)
  • Ability to manage multiple roles and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidates will be required to undergo a background and reference check prior to hiring.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting within HVAC, mechanical engineering, or industrial/manufacturing environments is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for full-time roles across: Engineering (Mechanical, R&D), Technical Sales, Manufacturing & Plant Operations, Corporate / Back Office functions (Finance, IT, HR, etc.)
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to define role requirements and hiring strategies
  • Drive efficient screening, interview coordination, and offer processes
  • Proactively source candidates using: LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed and other job platforms, Industry networks and referrals
  • Build and maintain pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles
  • Develop targeted sourcing strategies for niche HVAC and technical talent
  • Own scheduling, candidate communication, and interview coordination
  • Ensure a strong and consistent candidate experience
  • Maintain accurate data and workflows within ATS systems
  • Track and report on key recruiting metrics: Time-to-fill, Source effectiveness, Pipeline conversion rates
  • Use data to improve hiring efficiency and outcomes
  • Provide insights and recommendations to hiring leaders
  • Represent Smardt at: Career fairs, Open houses, Industry and networking events
  • Support local talent attraction initiatives aligned with business needs
  • Build presence in key technical talent markets
