About The Position

Axiom Builders is looking to bring on a proactive and relationship focused strategic and long-term focused Talent Acquisition Specialist to facilitate the full-cycle talent acquisition process as we continue to grow and scale our business. Partnering as a strategic advisor with our leadership team, you will serve our senior leadership at every stage, from defining position details, evaluating candidates for culture fit and skills, assessing skill gaps and team fit to coordinating on-boarding. This role will manage construction-focused positions and build meaningful and lasting relationships with strong candidates; understanding the current market conditions, active and closing projects and supporting our endeavor to be a top employer in the construction industry. While the role is a 1 year contract, there are strong chances of converting to a permanent position if performance, results and business need are there.

Requirements

  • Ideally 3+ years of experience in a business development, outside sales or relationship based networking role
  • Preference for experience within agency recruitment or internal talent acquisition focusing on strategic and proactive recruitment;
  • Strong ability to organize your workload leveraging your ATS, candidate pools, networking/industry events and LinkedIn;
  • Basic understanding of current Employment Standards and Legislation;
  • A focus on relationship building, collaboration and teamwork;
  • Comfortable picking up the phone, attending industry events outside regular hours and meeting new people;
  • Excellent communication (Verbal, Written and Interpersonal – Articulate, Professional and Concise);
  • Able to work in-office and comfortable travelling around the Lower Mainland as needed;
  • Familiar with the construction industry and Vancouver labour market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle talent acquisition process from multi-channel candidate sourcing to hiring;
  • Deliver an excellent candidate experience to all applicants at every step in the interview process;
  • Design creative recruitment programs and strategies to reach out to passive candidates;
  • Partner with the leadership team to plan for short term and long-term hiring needs;
  • Monitor and leverage agency recruitment partners to fill unique positions within the organization;
  • Support broader people and talent programs, such as new hire orientation, to enhance the overall employer brand reputation and candidate experience;
  • Assisting the Manager, Talent Acquisition, in project work, including university and campus programs, career fairs, international recruitment plans, and other recruitment initiatives.
