About The Position

Loblaw Transport is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist for a 12-month contract. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about recruiting top driving talent. The position offers flexibility in location, being based in either Calgary, AB or Brampton, ON. The specialist will be responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment for Class 1 drivers, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and managing candidate pipelines. Key responsibilities include handling high call volumes, coordinating road tests and driver orientations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and building strong relationships with internal teams. The role also involves maintaining accurate records in ATS systems.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of recruiting experience (transportation or logistics preferred)
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry and driver networks, including a strong understanding of Class 1 / AZ driver requirements and industry standards
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong organizational skills with experience booking meetings and coordinating schedules
  • A passion for recruiting and connecting with people
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
  • A team-first attitude with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-starter with a results-driven mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ATS platforms (Workday experience is an asset)

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for Class 1 drivers (company drivers & owner operators)
  • Source, screen, and qualify candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and industry networks
  • Conduct interviews and manage candidate pipelines in a high-volume environment
  • Handle high call volumes and maintain consistent communication with candidates
  • Coordinate and book road tests with qualified applicants
  • Support and coordinate driver orientations and onboarding
  • Ensure all hires meet compliance and regulatory requirements (licenses, abstracts, etc.)
  • Build strong relationships with operations, safety, and leadership teams
  • Maintain accurate records in ATS systems (Workday or similar)
