About The Position

Nova Scotia Power is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their HR Operations team in a Permanent, Full-time role. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager - Talent and will be central to the company's recruitment efforts, aiming to attract top talent to support corporate strategies.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Business or Human Resources.
  • 2+ years of experience in Recruitment/Talent Acquisition.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and social media platforms.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve results.
  • Excellent presentation and networking abilities.
  • A quick learner who thrives on challenges and can work independently.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hiring for unionized positions.
  • Experience in managing a complex multi-phase selection process.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand position requirements and develop effective sourcing strategies.
  • Manage job postings on the career website and other platforms to promote Nova Scotia Power as an employer of choice.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, screen candidates, conduct interviews, and shortlist top talent.
  • Ensure a positive experience for both candidates and clients throughout the recruitment process.
  • Utilize social media platforms like LinkedIn and other online networks to identify and attract qualified candidates.
  • Implement recruitment strategies, encourage employee referrals, and participate in networking events and job fairs.
  • Oversee administrative tasks, manage the applicant tracking system (ATS - ICIMS), conduct background checks, negotiate salaries, and prepare job offers.
  • Review internal recruitment trends to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Handle projects and assignments as needed.
